Childcare

Bryan believes that every family in District 14 deserves access to safe, affordable, and high-quality childcare. He understands the pressures that working parents face and is committed to creating solutions that support families and strengthen our community. Bryan’s plan focuses on expanding access to childcare services, improving the quality and safety of care, and ensuring that childcare providers are well-supported.

  1. Expanding Safe and Affordable Childcare Options. Too many families in the West Bronx struggle to find affordable and reliable childcare, which makes it difficult for parents to work and support their families. Bryan is committed to increasing funding for affordable childcare programs, including subsidies for low- and middle-income families, while ensuring that safety is a top priority.

  2. Expanding Childcare Availability for All Workers. Parents who work non-traditional hours, such as evening or weekend shifts, often face additional challenges in securing safe, reliable childcare. Bryan will advocate for expanding childcare options that cover all working hours, ensuring that every parent, regardless of their schedule, can find dependable care for their children. This includes advocating for after-hours childcare programs and flexible care options that are safe and accessible for all families in District 14.

  3. Improving the Quality and Safety of Childcare Services. Childcare should be more than just available—it must also be safe. Bryan will advocate for stronger safety standards and increased support for childcare providers to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality, secure care. He will work to implement rigorous safety inspections and enforce stricter regulations, ensuring that childcare centers are safe and well-supervised environments. Bryan’s plan also includes raising wages for childcare workers, ensuring they are trained, supported, and fairly compensated for their critical role in our community.

  4. Supporting and Expanding Early Childhood Education. Bryan knows that early childhood education is critical to a child’s development and future success. He will push for more investment in early childhood education programs, including universal Pre-K and expanded Head Start programs, ensuring that every child has access to safe and enriching environments. By focusing on the well-being and safety of children, Bryan’s plan will give kids in District 14 the strong foundation they deserve, with peace of mind for parents that their children are in good hands.
