Education
Bryan believes that every child deserves access to a quality education that opens doors to opportunity and success. In District 14, too many students are facing barriers to achieving their full potential, and Bryan is committed to breaking down those barriers. His education plan focuses on providing students with the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Expanding Access to After-School and Mentorship Programs. Bryan knows firsthand how important after-school programs can be—his experience playing sports was formative, teaching him discipline, focus, and perseverance. That’s why he’s committed to expanding access to after-school programs that provide students with safe, productive environments where they can learn, explore their interests, and grow. From academic tutoring to sports and the arts, these programs will give students the well-rounded experiences they need to succeed. Bryan will also work to expand mentorship opportunities, connecting students with role models who can guide and inspire them toward success in school and beyond.
Reducing Class Sizes and Hiring More Teachers. New York City must reduce its class sizes to provide students with the education they deserve. Bryan understands the benefits of smaller class sizes, where teachers can give more individualized attention and support to each student. To achieve this, Bryan is committed to allocating more resources to hire additional teachers and invest in educational infrastructure. By making these crucial investments, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive in a more focused, supportive learning environment.
Expanding Dual Enrollment Opportunities. Bryan knows firsthand the value of dual enrollment courses—those classes allowed him to graduate from NYU a year early with less debt. He’s committed to expanding access to dual enrollment programs, so more high school students can take college-level courses and earn credits before they even graduate. These programs give students a head start in their college education and reduce the financial burden of higher education, making college more affordable and accessible for families in District 14.
Supporting Pathways to Vocational Training and Career Readiness. Not every student wants to go to a traditional four-year college, and Bryan believes in supporting a variety of pathways to success. He will advocate for expanded vocational training programs that prepare students for high-paying jobs in trades, technology, and other industries. By partnering with local businesses and unions, Bryan’s plan will help students develop the skills they need to enter the workforce ready for meaningful, long-term careers.
