ISSUES

Job Creation

Bryan knows that access to good-paying jobs is key to the strength of our community and the well-being of our families. His plan is focused on both immediately boosting job creation while building a stronger, more resilient economy that ensures long-term prosperity for all residents of District 14. By prioritizing workforce development, supporting local businesses, and investing in future industries, Bryan is committed to securing lasting economic opportunity for our community.

  1. Expanding Job Training & Apprenticeship Programs. Bryan is committed to equipping Bronx residents with the skills they need to succeed in a changing job market. He will work with local unions, community colleges, and trade schools to expand job training, internship, and apprenticeship programs, ensuring that workers have access to the certifications and skills that employers are looking for. These programs will focus on high-demand industries, such as healthcare, technology, construction, and green energy, providing residents with pathways to stable, good-paying jobs.

  2. Prioritizing Local Hiring. Too often, jobs created in our community are given to those from outside our community. Bryan will advocate for policies that prioritize local hiring, ensuring that residents of District 14 benefit directly from new job opportunities in their neighborhood. By partnering with businesses, Bryan will create local job boards and collaborate with workforce development agencies to connect Bronx residents with job openings close to home. His plan will help keep economic growth in the Bronx and reduce the barriers to employment that many face.

  3. Investing in Innovation and Infrastructure for Long-Term Growth. To secure lasting economic prosperity, Bryan will prioritize investments in infrastructure and innovation. This includes increasing housing development, modernizing transportation, expanding broadband access, and supporting emerging markets (such as technology startups). By investing in these sectors, Bryan’s plan will not only create immediate jobs but also lay the foundation for long-term economic growth, positioning the West Bronx as a competitive player in NYC's current and future economy.

  4. Supporting Workers' Rights. With his legal background and experience at City Hall, Bryan is deeply committed to protecting workers' rights. As New York’s highest court continues to weaken worker protections, employees are left increasingly vulnerable. Bryan’s expertise equips him to push back against these efforts and ensure workers' rights are upheld. He will advocate for stronger enforcement of labor laws to protect workers from exploitation and abuse.
